“ The awards are presented to area businesses that have demonstrated outstanding achievements in marketing their organizations and have contributed to enhancing the region’s business profile through excellence in marketing,” said Dr. Nora Ganim Barnes, Director of the Slade’s Ferry Bank Center for Business Research. “ We asked the Chambers of Commerce representing the greater Fall River, greater New Bedford, Taunton and Metro South areas to select one business from their areas that demonstrated excellence in marketing,” Barnes added.

Businesses chosen to receive the “Excellence in Marketing” awards include Saint Anne’s Credit Union of Fall River, Ralph’s Chrysler Jeep of New Bedford, Bristol County Savings Bank of Taunton and Webster Printing and Mailing Company of Hanson. The President of each Chamber of Commerce will present the awards to the recipients at the event.

In addition to the marketing awards, merit scholarships will be presented to outstanding students enrolled in the marketing department at UMass Dartmouth. As sponsors of the Slade’s Ferry Bank Center for Business Research, the Dartmouth Mall, Precix Inc, Bufftree Building Company and Fall River Ford donated funding for the scholarships.
