Dartmouth,MA --A single performance of Julius Caesar will be presented at the University of Massachusetts Main Auditorium on April 7 at 8 p.m. A techniques workshop will be held at 4 p.m.

Performed by a six-member cast from Shakespeare and Company, this production of Julius Caesar is a fast-paced, 90-minute, Bare Bard production -- similar to Elizabethan touring groups that traveled the countryside each time the plague took London and city officials closed the theaters. Scholars believe these Elizabethan touring companies contained a small casts of players, each of whom played multiple roles, and performed scripts that were truncated accordingly.

Tickets are free for UMD Students, Faculty and Staff, and $5 for General Admission. Tickets are available at UMass Pass 508-910-6440.

Additionally, a Shakespearean Techniques Workshop, conducted by the cast members will be held at 4 p.m. the same day. The fee for the workshop is $5 and includes a ticket to the performance. For more information about the workshop, or to reserve a ticket, call 508-999-8597. Workshop attendance is limited to the first 50 reservations.
