UMASS DARTMOUTH ANNOUNCES $1.5 MILLION ENDOWMENT FOR PORTUGUESE-AMERICAN ARCHIVES Includes $1 million in private gifts plus $500,000 state match The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth today announced a $1.5 million endowment that will support the Portuguese-American Archives housed at the University library. The archives are already among the largest collections of materials documenting the immigration of Portuguese people to America.
'Save A Life' Tour Drunk Driving Simulator at UMD April 22
North Dartmouth, Massachusetts- UMD students will soon have the opportunity to experience the effects of driving an automobile while intoxicated without ever touching a drink. The 'Save A Life'Tour's state-of-the art, interactive drunk driving simulator, will visit UMD's Tripp Athletic Center on Friday, April 22 from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. The event is sponsored by the Athletics Department, Health Services/Health Education, and the UMD Peer Health Educators.
