New Diaspora Drama Festival Comes To New Bedford In May
The festival will take place at the Neighborhood College Theatre of the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, located at 1215 Purchase Street in New Bedford, Massachusetts. The films on May 19, 20, 21, 22 will be presented at 8 p.m. in the evening and at 4 p.m. in the afternoon on Sunday the 23rd of May. Tickets are $10 per night or $40 for a festival pass.
Umd Student Art Works On Display In Main Gallery At Dartmouth Campus
For immediate release: April 20, 2004 Contact: Jim Sears UMass Dartmouth: 508-999-8215 UMD STUDENT ART WORKS ON DISPLAY IN MAIN GALLERY AT DARTMOUTH CAMPUS DARTMOUTH, MASSACHUSETTS - Junior and Senior art majors in the College of Visual and Performing Arts are showing their paintings, drawings, prints and sculptures in a new University sponsored exhibit entitled "Fine Art Spring Juried Exhibition 2004." The show is on display in the main gallery of the Visual and Performing Arts building on the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth main campus. The exhibit opened Monday, April 12th and continues through Tuesday, May 4th. It is free and open to the public with parking available in lots 8, 9 or 10. A closing reception will be held on Tuesday May 4th from 5-7 PM in the Main Gallery. The gallery is open Monday through Friday from 10AM until 4PM, and on Saturday, April 24, from10AM until 4PM.
2004 Waxler Memorial Prize For Social Justice
DARTMOUTH, MASSACHUSETTS The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth announced today that Ms. Brenna Kraus has been selected to receive the 2004 Jonathan Blake Waxler Memorial Prize for Social Justice. The award was established in 1996 by the University to keep alive Jonathan Waxler's own idealism and vision. Ms. Kraus will receive the $500 award that recognizes her efforts to personify a similar principled commitment to political activism.

Workshop To Explore Identity Beyond The Body

25th Annual Career Expo April 14 At Umass Dartmouth

UMassOnline Revenue Grows 39% and Enrollments Grow 32% in FY 2004
UMass Online, the University of Massachusetts web-based learning division, today announced that online education program revenues and enrollments grew 39 percent and 32 percent, respectively, in FY 2004 (July 1, 2003 - June 31, 2004). Revenues from the University of Massachusetts systems online programs were $12.7 million, up from $9.1 million in FY 2003, while enrollments reached 14,787, up from 11,239 in the same period. More than 90 percent of the revenues are retained by the UMass campuses to support education and research programs.
