Dartmouth, MA University of Massachusetts Dartmouth Chancellor Jean F. MacCormack announced today that community activist Lee Charlton, President of the NAACP, and campus leader Ross M. Grace, Jr., Assistant Director of the University?s Frederick Douglass Unity House, were selected to receive the University?s first ?Drum Major Award?. The award is given in recognition of the significant contributions made by community and campus leaders toward realizing Dr. King?s dream of equality, social justice, and peace.
The Second Half Announces Its Spring Program

UMass Dartmouth Archives Receives Videotapes That Preserve French-Canadian Heritage
DARTMOUTH, MASSACHUSETTS - In an effort to preserve some of the cultural heritage of the French-Canadian community in New England, UMass Dartmouth Chancellor Professor Mel Yoken recently donated a collection of videotaped interviews to the University Archives. The collection is comprised of (22) separate video tape recordings produced by Matt Leavitt and Dawn Lyons, two students working under Prof. Yoken?s supervision in an upper-level independent study French course.

Southcoast Education Compact Awarded $20,000 Verizon Grant For Student Technology Expo
