Welcome to the College of Nursing (CON). This section of the CON web site is
designed to keep you informed about the responsibilities and the opportunities
that come with being a student in the College.
Please review the College of Nursing Student Handbook. It has been compiled as an adjunct to the University Student Handbook and contains information particular to the College. The handbook lists these suggestions for achievement:
- Be a responsible student: attend class and clinical sessions, study, review your progress with your advisor, seek help when necessary, use the services available to you, and accept responsibility for yourself.
- Become involved: Take advantage of opportunities to work with a faculty members on research and participate in College and University activities and events. The Student Handbook, the Student Activities pages, and the Web Calendar are good places to start.
- Begin to form your professional network: Join the UMass Dartmouth chapter of the National Student Nurses Association. Join one of the national nursing organizations as student member: American Nurses Association or the National League for Nursing.
- Regularly access the College of Nursing site for information about opportunities, class events, course requirements and updates, and more.
A busy year awaits you. Hopefully it will be one filled with achievement and progression toward your goal of a wonderful career in Nursing.
