NSNA and MaSNA are pre-professional organizations operated by and for nursing students. NSNA offers many programs, discounts on products (NSNA Journal, Imprint), services (e.g. liability insurance), and leadership opportunities. UMDsna is an excellent vehicle for involvement in your chosen profession. Membership fees are very reasonable. UMDsna is a great way to get involved in the College of Nursing and gain leadership skills that are valuable to every nurse.
Philanthropy
The UMDsna is involved in a number or philanthropy projects at UMass Dartmouth. We hold a blood pressure screening and a blood drive every semester. We participate in many walks in New England, including the Relay for Life held here at UMass Dartmouth.
UMDsna has previously been involved in toy drives for a New Bedford daycare that burnt down and a drive for supplies to send to troops fighting overseas. We have also held numerous events to benefit the American Cancer Society and the Heart Fund. UMDsna has had members attend the national conventions across the United States and state conventions held in the Boston area. UMDsna is a great way to get involved in the College of Nursing and gain leadership skills that are valuable to every nurse.
