Office of Faculty Development Teaching Grants

The Office of Faculty Development is committed to the promotion and development of scholarly work on teaching by UMass-Dartmouth faculty. In order to achieve this goal, the OFD commits to a $500 (maximum) travel grant for faculty who will be presenting papers or facilitating workshops on college-level teaching and learning. This grant is non-competitive and will be available throughout the academic year.

We therefore invite applications from full and part-time faculty for support for travel and related expenses associated with presenting scholarly papers or workshops on college-level teaching and learning.

The travel can be used during the summer or the semester (July 1st 2012 through June 30th 2013).

Chancellor’s Innovation in Teaching Awards

These awards are given annually for innovative teaching practices, courses, or other activities related to teaching. Each year there will be a different focus for these awards; for example, there could be a focus on a specific activity, such as undergraduate research, or on something more general, such as strategies aimed at increasing student engagement. The amount of these awards will vary from year to year and will be used for faculty development. These awards are funded by the Chancellor's Innovation in Teaching Awards grant to the OFD.
