This picture will be used on the Common Issues page. If you have an issue or concern that you feel should be addressed and are not sure where to go or what to do, contact the Office of the Ombudsperson.

What Ombudsperson can assist you with:

  • Academic integrity
  • Advisor-advisee relations, supervisor-supervisee relations
  • Coaching, written and communication
  • Decisions or actions affecting groups or individuals
  • Fear of retaliation
  • Fear of expressing unacceptable behavior
  • Health and safety issues
  • Incivility and rudeness
  • Interpersonal disputes/relationship
  • Employment related disputes
  • Grading issues
  • Mediate or facilitate communications between individuals or amongst group of individuals
  • Unfair treatment
  • Policies and procedures (campus, college, center, school, programs or department)
  • Power and authority issues
  • Training on topics related to communication and conflict resolution
  • Working conditions
  • Workplace Disputes

 

The Ombuds Office is an independent, neutral, confidential and informal resource. It does not accept formal complaints or notice for the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. If a visitor wishes to make a record, or put the University "on notice," that is, to make the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth formally aware of a particular problem, we can provide information on how to do so.
