s Dartmouth is a member of the International Ombudsman Association (IOA). IOA is the largest international organization of organizational Ombuds practitioners in the world, representing over 500 members from the United States and across the globe. It was formed in July 2005, as a merger of two former organizations, The Ombuds Association (TOA) and University and College Ombuds Association (UCOA).
The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth Ombudsperson and Ombuds Assistant practice according to the IOA Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice that can be viewed on the International Ombudsman Association website: http://www.ombudsassociation.org/
The Ombuds Office is an independent, neutral, confidential and informal resource. It does not accept formal complaints or notice for the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth.
