Express Bus - Dartmouth to New Bedford

NEW! Campus and downtown New Bedford now linked by express bus
Provides shopping, dining, and entertainment opportunities for students.

The Division of Student Affairs, in collaboration with the City of New Bedford, has launched a pilot express bus loop from the main campus to the Star Store arts campus in downtown New Bedford. Service begins Monday, January 28. This service is free to all UMass Dartmouth members who have the UMass Pass ID.

The Loop includes hourly express runs between the Campus Center and the Star Store. Monday through Thursday, the first pick-up will be 7:35 a.m. at the Star Store and the last drop-off will be 9:50 at the Campus Center (outside the bookstore/UMass Pass entrance). There will be extended evening hours on Friday and Saturday nights and a modified Sunday schedule.

In addition to providing shuttle service to students, faculty and staff for Star Store classes, the shuttle can also used to explore the culture, couture, and cuisine of downtown New Bedford; and to access community service and intern opportunities.

This pilot project is made possible through a collaboration with the City of New Bedford and a financial contribution from the College of Visual and Performing Arts.

The University is also piloting a second shuttle, the SMAST Loop, beginning this Monday the 28th, that will provide five runs a day from SMAST in New Bedford to our Fairhaven site.

A full Star Store Loop schedule and a map of downtown New Bedford attractions can be found at http://www.newbedford.is/theloop/
