Liberal Arts - Education Minor Track for Paraprofessionals
What It Is
BCC/UMD Joint Admissions Program "Fast-Track" Bachelor's Degree Program for ParaProfessionals
Bristol Community College and UMass Dartmouth Professional & Continuing Education have partnered to support a Bachelor of Arts degree for individuals working as Paraprofessionals in the New Bedford and Fall River public schools. Students will complete their Associate's degree at Bristol Community College and those credits will transfer into a specially designed UMD program that will allow students to finish coursework in three years and be prepared for teacher licensure. Students will obtain a degree in Liberal Arts with an Education Minor. Students enrolled in this program will be able to continue to work in their school position.
What You Study
Students enrolled in this program will take two courses each semester in the
Summer, Fall and Spring. Typically courses will be held in the late afternoon
and held at UMass Dartmouth Professional & Continuing Education Center in
New Bedford. The Academic Plan is as follows:
