Renato Anelli is an architect and professor at the University of São Paulo's School of Engineering of São Carlos. Dr. Anelli currently coordinates the graduate program in Arquitecture and Urbanism. He was Secretary of Transport, Works and Public Services (2001-2004) and a visiting researcher at the Venice University Institute of Architecture in Italy (1994, 1995 and 1998). His current research focuses on urban strategies in Brazil and Italian architecture. Anelli’s book, Rino Levi: Architecture and the City (São Paulo: Editora Romano Guerra, 2001), was awarded “Best Architectural Publication" by the Brazilian Institute of Architecture. He has also published extensively in Brazilian and European catalogues, journals and newspapers.
This talk is part of the 2007-2008 “Futures of Luso-Afro-Brazilian Studies" lecture series organized by Prof. Victor K. Mendes, Department of Portuguese.
