Pre-Medical/Pre-Health Medical Scholars Program- Open to all undergraduate majors

  • If you're applying to UMass Dartmouth with an interest in pre-med or related health professions, please indicate this on your application form, regardless of your declared program of study, so we can offer you appropriate advising and tracking once you're here on campus.

  • Select a major that you would enjoy no matter what your future plans.  The only healthcare majors currently offered at UMass Dartmouth are in medical laboratory science, nursing, and clinical psychology.  Career decisions can change so be sure you major in a field you would like to work in.  The requirements for other allied health professions are determined by the graduate program of interest. Typically, students preparing for medical, dental, veterinary, physician's assistant, and physical therapy schools need to include in their program at least:

  • If you're currently an undergraduate, transfer, or graduate student at UMass Dartmouth who has developed an interest in pursuing a health professions career, please register with the Pre-Health Professions Advisor Director.

  • If you've already completed a bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year institution but need to complete the professional program undergraduate requirements before applying to medical school or a related health professional school, find out more about the Pre-health Professions Certificate.
