UMass Chan BaccMD Pathways Program

Eligible UMass Dartmouth pre-med and pre-health students have an opportunity to participate in the BaccMD Pathways Program with UMass Chan Medical School. Students in the first undergraduate year can participate in the program through the monthly Book Club and attending the symposium. Eligible students can then apply to become a Medical Scholar in the sophomore year, apply for internship opportunities, and apply for provisional early acceptance to UMass Chan. For more information, read more about the program or contact the UMassD Pre-Med and Pre-Health advisors.

Pre-Medical/Pre-Health Medical Scholars program—Open to all undergraduate majors

  • If you're applying to UMass Dartmouth with an interest in pre-med or related health professions, please indicate this on your application form, regardless of your declared program of study, so we can offer you appropriate advising and tracking once you're here on campus.

  • Select a major that you would enjoy no matter what your future plans. UMass Dartmouth offers healthcare majors in medical laboratory science, nursing, and clinical psychology. Career decisions can change, so be sure you major in a field you would like to work in. The requirements for other allied health professions are determined by the graduate program of interest.

If you're currently an undergraduate, transfer, or graduate student at UMass Dartmouth who has developed an interest in pursuing a health professions career, please email pre-med@umassd.edu

If you've already completed a bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year institution but need to complete the professional program undergraduate requirements before applying to medical school or a related health professional school, find out more about the Pre-health Professions Certificate.
