Biography

The Associate Vice Chancellor for Enrollment Management is responsible for overseeing the Offices of Admissions, Financial Aid, Registrar, and the University Enrollment Centers at both the UMass Dartmouth campus and the Law School. 

 

Teresa Mauk brings more than 20 years of experience in educational leadership at the secondary, community college, and university settings.  Prior to joining UMass Dartmouth, Teresa was the Assistant Vice-President of Enrollment Services and Director of Admissions at Texas Woman’s University in Denton, Dallas, and Houston, Texas.  While there, she and her team reversed a seven-year enrollment decline and led TWU to an overall 37% increase in headcount enrollment between 2003-2009.  In addition, she was instrumental in raising the average freshman SAT score 16 points while increasing minority enrollment 65% between Fall 2003 and Fall 2009.  Teresa has also worked part-time as an enrollment management consultant with Dr. Jim Black’s SEM Works since 2004.  Her service portfolio includes appointments to the Texas Enrollment Services Efficiency Committee and the Texas Common Application Advisory Committee, as well as Chair of the TACRAO (Texas Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers) Enrollment Management Planning Committee.

 

Teresa’s previous positions include Assistant Director of Student Services at Ohio University, Coordinator of Recruitment and Community Outreach at Central Community College, Nebraska, and Site Coordinator at Butler County Community College, Kansas.  During her time as a high school faculty member and coach at Wichita Northwest High School, Kansas, she was named Teacher of the Year and earned the two-diamond coaching distinction from the National Forensic League.  Teresa holds a Master of Arts degree in Speech Communication from Emporia State University, Kansas, and a Bachelor of Arts in English Education from Adams State College, Colorado.
