Our Fulbright Scholars -- Bringing knowledge to the world and back home again
UMass Dartmouth is distinguished by outstanding University-level faculty who connect their discoveries to their teaching, enlivening the learning of their students.
Five UMass Dartmouth faculty members have been named 2011 Fulbright Scholars, among the highest number of Fulbrighters from any university in the country this year. These academic pioneers will represent the United States as they bring their knowledge and expertise to universities around the world next year. The research and creative activity they conduct overseas will then be brought home to share with UMass Dartmouth students.
Recipients of Fulbright awards are selected on the basis of academic or professional achievement, as well as demonstrated leadership potential in their fields. Fulbright recipients are among more than 40,000 individuals participating in U.S. Department of State exchange programs each year to promote mutual understanding and respect between the people of the United States and the people of other countries. The Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program is administered by the Council for International Exchange of Scholars.
