Description:
The 4-H Youth and Family Development Program provides youth and those who work with youth the support and opportunities which prepare youth to become contributing members of society. Youth learn through the experiential learning model in 4-H, also known as “hands-on” learning. This learning takes place at the club level in towns and cities throughout Massachusetts, where volunteer club leaders guide young people through the process. Educational activities and competitive events occur at the county, regional, and state levels. The Massachusetts 4-H program is focusing its resources in three areas: animal science, communications, and community service. The 4-H Program is part of UMass Extension.
