Description:
The Pilgrim RC&D Area Council is a 501 (c)(3) private nonprofit dedicated to environmental enhancement and sustainable community development. The Council’s service area includes Bristol, Plymouth and Barnstable Counties, Martha’s Vineyard, and Nantucket. RC&D staff provide technical assistance in grant writing and grant management, and assistance with community outreach and organizing on water quality, natural resources protection, agricultural preservation and development, and sustainable communities issues. It plays a pivotal role in networking and coalition-building amongst agricultural interests in the Southeastern Massachusetts region, including support for the formation and coordination of town Agricultural Commissions. The Council can also access the expertise of USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service staff for technical assistance with resource protection and environmental enhancement concerns. A newsletter, The Pilgrim RC&D News, is published twice a year. |
