Mission Statement
The Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Education Department is an interdisciplinary department focused on cutting edge research and reform-based teaching and learning. The hallmark of our department is our faculty’s strength in integrating research expertise in the classroom, and classroom expertise in research. The STEM Education Department is home to the STEM Education PhD program aligning with the University’s vision to provide high quality scholarly research on campus. The STEM Education Department also provides science and mathematics courses for K-12 educators seeking an initial or professional license as teachers of Math, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or General Science. The department endeavors to strengthen the quality of STEM research and education, as well as advance the University's STEM related partnerships in the region, the state, and internationally.
