Great page!!!!!!!!!!
I'd like to visit C.V. Islands. Could somebody give me the basic travel info (the most economic air connection, ...)??? Many thanks.

Hi everyone. I am very much interested in doing a family
tree and finding out how to research my family line in the
c.v. islands. My grandfather was from the island of S.
Nicolau and I understand before he come to this country he
left a family in the islands with the last name Soares. He
jumped ship in New Bedford, Mass. and then made his way to
Providence, R.I. where he met and married. He had five chil
dren before she died and he then fathered 3 more children
with another woman. My father was part of the second set of
children. My aunt used to recieve letters from my grandfather's
family back in the islands to send clothes, cars, shoes, and
sewing machines. I am very interested in making the family connection.

Hi!
I look at our capeverdian homepage very often, and this time
I will hopefully be able to sign the guestbook.
I am a caboverdiana living in Kalmar, Sweden. I study Tourism
and sociology at the University here. My dream is to work in
CV one day. I came to Sweden 1970 with my parents and we are
all from S. Nicolau. So is also my husband AntŰnio Reis, who
has been here for 4 months now.I want to thank everyone who contributes to this homepage.
In my eyes this is is really beautiful, it is art. Our country
is so beautiful and I sometimes I wonder why the emigrated
CV youth don't want to move back? We have to contribute to
the development and building of our country.Do you want to talk about CV, don't hesitate to contact me.
Have a beautiful day!

Verdian friends where I used to live in Geneva, Switerland.I would be interested in information about reference books
on Creole. I wanted to learn, but I only learned how to say
"Cabo Verde e sabe." I know Portuguese, but it doesn't help
very much.I am also interested in Cape Verdian music. Is there any
where I can mail order? Thanks in advance for your help.

I travelled to Cape Verde in April 95 for the first time.
Together with my family I visited Santiago, Fogo, Sao Vicente,
Santo Antao and Sal. It was a very immpressive journey. We were some of the
first strangers, who saw the eruption of the Fogo volcano from a distance
of 500 m.
Your homepage is for me the only source in Germany, to get some infomations
from Cape Verde.Thanks!

I haven't read your pages thorough at the moment as I am a new user.
I am of Cape Verdean descent, my grandfather was born in Sao Vicente,
I have visited the country in the hope of tracing the remains of my
family, but strangely all my great grandfathers records and the records
of my grandfather were destroyed in a fire, I was not satisfied as
everyone else in our party had found their grandfathers's, husband's
records.
