Infelizmente, a maioria dos nossos colaboradores sao Caboverdianos nascidos nos E.U.A. e nunca tiveram a possibilidade de estudar o Português ou imigrantes que deixaram Cabo Verde sem adquirir um nível de conhecimento professional em Português suficiente para redigir esse s trabalhos.    Sinceramente, nao entendo o porque da mensagem no inicio
desta pagina pedindo colaboracao para a realizacao de
traducoes Ingles/Portugues e/ou Ingles/Crioulo. Ja escrevi duas
vezes para os desenvolvedores da pagina, disponibilizando-me

I backed my way into this website looking for African
recepies. I'm a sucker for links, following them whereever
they take me. This is pretty cool, and a nice coincidence
since I just saw Cesaria Evora last week. I've visited some
Portugese speaking nations; Mozambique, and Brazil, and I've
been to Northeastern Botswana, which at the time seemed occupied
only by Angolan refugees. Maybe I'll get to Cabo Verde some
day.

Hullo Everybody,

I am a medical doctor, pathologist to be exact, from
Tanzania (a great country, a great poeple, a great culture,
and a great nature: Kilimanjaro, Serengeti, Gombe etc).
I am currently on a brief visit to Norway.

Comming from this country which is the cradle of mankind
(Olduvai Gorge) I feel oblidged to learn a little bit
as to what this species, man, did to himself, what others
did to him, and what he enjoys doing since he left Tanzania
(oh, sorry, Olduvai Gorge !). In other words I interested
in learning a little bit of history and culture of different
poeples in different countries. What I found in your home
page was very interesting and enlightening, two thumbs up
for you !.Your effort to promote Creolu is very commendable.
In Tanzania similar effort was done on Kiswahili (Swahili)
to great sucess. I am very much looking forward to seeing
the first Creolu- Swahili Dictionary !

I am curious about the two Wahnon brothers in the Cape Verde government. 
I believe we might be related. My family came to America 
from Gibraltar about 1900. According to the records, a 
branch of the Wahnon family migrated from Gibraltar to 
Portugal then to Cape Verde. The possibility that we 
came from common ancestors is quite strong.

What's up everyone? I am a Cape Verdean student at Boston College.
I am very interested with communicating with other Cape Verdeans
out there.  This past August I spent three and a half weeks 
in S.Vicente and two days in Sal.  It was my first visit to 
Cabo Verde.  I had the best experience of my life.  I miss it

Hi everybody

STOP STOP READ THIS AND HELP ME PLEASE

One of my tasks at my work at The health institute of
Rotterdam is to prevent that some migrant minority groups
contract the HIV. this is a very difficult thing to do when a
lots of men and women (young and old) reject the use of
a condom. I want to ask you the following questions:

-How can I, convince the capeverdeans for example to
protect themselves with a condom?

-What kind of message would you, as a capeverdean (or other)
personally like to hear, that would get you to change to a
safe sex behaviour?

-Is there a video with information about aids specially
made to use in sex/ health education for capeverdeans
(in crioulo or portuguese)?

The Cape Verdean Student Alliance of Umass Dartmouth (CVSA)
is having it's first fund raising event (party) on Monday
November 10,1997.

The event will be held in the Cedar
Dell South Student Center.

Date: Monday November 10, 1997 ***No school Tuesday***

Place: Cedar Dell South Student Center

Music: Cape Verdean(criolo), rap, reggae, latino, etc...

Everyone is invited, Cape Verdeans and non-Cape Verdeans.
All the CVSA's of the region are especially encouraged to
attend this night of entertainment. Yeah, this is going to
those @ CVSA Brown Univ, CVSA Bridgewater, CVSA Boston
College, CVSA Umass Amherst, and CVSA University of Rhode

Directions to UmassD
From Boston and Points North:
Take (Interstate)I-93 South to route 24 South then at exit
12 take route 140 south. When you get to exit 3 take
Hathaway Rd. and bear right go all the way until you get
to route 6 West. When on route 6 pass first set of lights.
On second set of lights, bear left and drive for a little
past 1/4 of a mile and take a right that's Old Westport Rd.
drive for about 1/2 mile or so and UmassD is on your left.

From Providence and Points West:
Take (Interstate) I-195 East drive all the way to exit 11.
At exit 11 take a right at the end of the exit bear another
right, drive for about 1-1.5 miles and take a left at the
lights. This is Route 6 East. On route 6, drive for
about 1.5-2 miles and when you get to the nissan dealer take
a right at that light; drive for about 1/4 mile or so and
take a right that's Old Westport rd. UmassD is on your left.

Once on Campus:
At the campus entrance take your first right, drive all the
way until you see a flashing light/s at the flashing light/s,
take a right that's Cedar Dell Village entrance, drive past
the little hut, drive straight for 1/4 mile or so Cedar Dell
South Student Center is right there.....

Assuming that Cardiff is the oldest CV community in Europe and the British Isles, 
then Rotterdam is the second oldest.  What is the third oldest CV community 
in Europe, and how large is it?

I am also interested in knowing whether or not any Cape Verdeans in these 
countries have made careers in the police or fire services.  Have any Cape 
Verdeans in these countries made careers in the Military Services or Naval 
Services. If  you want to know more about me, there is a full set of information

I am writing on behalf of the Cape Verdean Students Organization
at Central High School in Bridgeport, Connecticut.  We are very
interested in working with other Cape Verdean groups on the high
school and college level.  Please let us know when you are sponsoring
events.  We are in the process of collecting school supplies for

Ola!

what nice to see such a small country at such a big home-
page. During my stay in Moscow, (why in all places there!!!)
I have met a couple of Cape-Verdians (thanks to my friend,
Fatima do Rosario) and I have directly fallen in love with
their culture. We have danced the Funana, and listened to
their music. I cannot wait to see them again, and hear their
music! Their music is so hard to get in Holland. I will, as
soon as possible, visit the country and hear from you all,
all over the world! Capeverdian or not!
