Get the perfect schedule

  • honors students may register early for classes, at the same time as athletes and resident advisors in the dormitories


 Take intellectually stimulating and challenging courses

  • no large lecture classes means more personal attention and contact with our best and brightest faculty
  • opportunities for active participation, development of leadership skills, and exchanges between students and faculty
  • innovative and exciting teaching
  • field experience and collaborative learning; critical reading, thinking, speaking, and writing; activities that develop organization and  presentation skills
  • opportunities for service learning projects
  • course enhancements such as speakers and field trips to museums, performances, and special exhibits

Collaborate and socialize with fellow honors students

  • teaching and learning
  • living and learning spaces
  • interactions and social activities


 Undertake advanced research projects

  • grants to support research and its presentation
  • opportunities to attend and participate in research conferences and exhibitions


 Have your achievement recognized

  • at the annual Honors Convocation
  • on transcripts
  • in the graduation program
  • on diplomas

The program is an institutional member of the National Collegiate Honors Council and the Northeast Regional Honors Council, and is a certified member of the Commonwealth Honors Programs.

The Honors Program participates in the annual Commonwealth Honors Programs-sponsored Massachusetts State System of Public Higher Education Conference on Undergraduate Research, Scholarly, Creative, and Public Service Activities and the annual on-campus Sigma Xi Research Exhibition.
