Pickering joins UMass Dartmouth Athletics

as Assistant Head Athletic Trainer

(Dartmouth, MA) – Kevin Pickering has been hired as Assistant Head Athletic Trainer in the Athletic Department at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth.  UMass Dartmouth Athletic Director announced Pickering’s hiring which is effective immediately.

A resident of Fall River, Pickering comes to UMass Dartmouth after working for four years as an Assistant Athletic Trainer at Framingham State College, dating back to 2000.   Prior to his work at Framingham State, Pickering had also served as an Assistant Athletic Trainer and Teacher at the New Hampton School in New Hampton, NH for a year. 

A 1999 graduate of Colby-Sawyer College with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Exercise and Sport Science, Pickering was a student athletic trainer for three seasons at the New London, NH institution.

Currently he holds a Massachusetts Athletic Trainer license along with a National Athletic Trainers’ Association certification. He Is certified in CPR, in use of an AED and in First Aid by the American Red Cross.  Pickering is also a member of the Eastern Athletic Trainers Association and Athletic Trainers of Massachusetts.

Pickering will work with UMass Dartmouth’s Head Athletic Trainer Wendy Kirby, who took over the post earlier this year when former head trainer Louise Goodrum was appointed Associate Director of Athletics.
