With that performance, the squad was awarded a bid to the NCA Nationals for the third year in a row. The team also placed first in the small coed division at the 6th Annual Emmanuel College Invitational Cheerleading Competition. UMD, who captured last year's event, finished with a score of 90.5 out of a possible 100 points, including perfect scores in 7 of the 15 categories. The University of Connecticut finished second (77 points), followed by Westfield State (75.5), and Salem State (70).
