Paul D. Fistori took over as the new head men’s golf coach at UMass Dartmouth prior to the Fall 1997 season and has held the post for eight seasons.

During the Fall 2003 season the Corsairs were 2-0 and placed 5th in the annual ECAC Division III championships after taking first in the ECAC regional qualifier. At season’s end, UMass Dartmouth finished in a tie for 10^th at the annual NEIGA Championships played at Captains Golf Course in Brewster, MA.  At season’s end, Fistori was honored as the Northeast District Golf Coach of the Year.  During the 2004 Spring season, UMass Dartmouth captured the Massachusetts Intercollegiate Championships for the second time in four years.

Three years ago, the Corsairs captured its first ever Massachusetts Intercollegiate championships, while also earning first-place finishes in three different invitational tournaments and a pair of intercollegiate match victories as well.  UMass Dartmouth also placed seventh overall at the 2002 District One Shootout.

In four of his first five seasons season with the Corsairs, Fistori led his team to an ECAC Tournament qualification and continues to develop a deep roster of solid players for future competition. 

Since taking over the golf program, Fistori has established a two-season schedule for the Corsairs, competing in both the Fall and Spring against some of the top NCAA Division III golf teams in New England. UMass Dartmouth’s home matches are played at Allendale Country Club in Dartmouth, MA

Before joining the head coaching ranks in the UMass Dartmouth Athletic Department, Fistori had been part of the university community since 1971, serving as Registrar until his retirement in 1996.

An accomplished golfer himself, Fistori has been a member of the Reservation Golf Club for more than 30 years, serving as president for the past 14 years. 

Fistori is a member of the Massachusetts Golf and The United States Golf Association, as well as the United States Golf Coaches Association.
