Women's Tennis

Head Coach Ralph Perry

Ralph Perry of Rochester was appointed women’s tennis coach at UMass Dartmouth prior to the 1999 season and has served in the position for eight seasons.  Perry's teams have compiled a record of 58-61, including a career best 10-3 during the 2007 season, which also saw the Corsairs go 6-1 and tie for the Little East Conference regular season championship.  UMass Dartmouth ended the 2007 season with a third place finish in the LEC Women's Tennis Championship Tournament.

 

A former boy’s tennis coach at New Bedford High School for 15 seasons, Perry has been a teacher and coach throughout southeastern Massachusetts for more than 30 years.  Perry is a science teacher at Sea Lab in New Bedford and has taught in the Sea Lab summer program since 1993.

 

Perry’s coaching experience also includes several years as varsity softball coach at Old Rochester Regional High School, where he also coached freshman basketball.

Perry earned his BS in Physical Education from Southern Arkansas University and his MS in Insutruction Technology from Rhode Island College. 

In addition to his work with the women's tennis program at UMass Dartmouth, Perry was the Corsairs' interim women's softball coach for the 2003 season and he was an assistant coach during the 2006 season.  He also serves as the official scorer for the Corsairs' men's basektball team.
