Wendy Kirby was promoted to Head Athletic Trainer in the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth Athletic Department by Athletic Director Robert W. Mullen in July of 2004. . 

Kirby had been the Assistant Athletic Trainer at UMass Dartmouth since 1996. She was promoted to Head Trainer to fill the vacancy left by Louise Goodrum who was appointed Associate Director of Athletics in June.

A 1994 graduate of Bridgewater State College with a degree Physical Education, Kirby worked as Head Athletic Trainer at Westport High School from 1994 through 1998. In 1996 she began working as an Assistant Trainer at UMass Dartmouth. Kirby is a Licensed Athletic Trainer and also holds a state certification as well.

 In addition to her athletic training work, Kirby has been a Clinical Instructor in the Athletic Training program at Bridgewater State College since 1995.

Kirby is a resident of Westport, Massachusetts.
