UMD took the lead by scoring twice late in the first half. Senior midfielder Robin Dziedzic (Palmer, MA/Palmer HS) converted a pass from freshman midfielder Constance Jones (
Sophomore forward Lindsay Berube (Somerset, MA/Somerset HS) made it 3-0 on a goal a minuted and a half into the second half. Sophomore forward Caitlin DiCecca’s (Chelmsford, MA/Chelmsford HS) goal a minute and a half later made it 4-0, and Jones scored again, assisted by junior midfielder Larissa Correia (Fairhaven., MA/Fairhaven HS), in the final minute of play.
Junior goalkeepers Elizabeth Fitzgerald (Danvers, MA/Danvers HS) and Jessica Tavares (Dartmouth, MA/Dartmouth HS) combined for the shutout, with Fitzgerald making six saves and Tavares two. Amanda Dietzel and Nicole Downs combined to make nine saves for BSC.
With the victory, UMD improved to 5-4, 2-2 in LEC play. The Bears dropped to 2-6 and 2-4. The Corsairs will return to action when they host Keene State Tuesday.
