ELMS COLLEGE FALLS TO UMASS-DARTMOUTH, 5-0

CHICOPEE, MA, Sept. 8, 2005 - Elms College junior goalkeeper Colleen Strunk (Stoneham, MA) stopped 12 shots, but UMass-Dartmouth sophomore midfielder Erin Lanagan (Townsend, MA) netted a pair of goals as the visiting Corsairs scored five first half goals en route to a 5-0 win over the Blazers in Thursday s non-conference field hockey season opener for both teams at Leary Field.

Junior goalkeeper Elizabeth Fitzgerald (Danvers, MA) turned aside 10 shots to earn the shutout for UMass-Dartmouth (1-0 overall), which scored all five of its goals in a 22-minute span in the opening half.
