Fitness Center Summer Workouts 2008

On this page you will find the lifting workouts, nutritional information, speed, agility, and conditioning workouts, fitness standards, workout notes and suggestions, and warm-up/stretching routines.

If there are four workout per week you should try to work on two consecutive days, with a day off in between. On weeks when there are three workouts, a Monday, Wednesday, Friday schedule would be best. Do the best you can in setting up your own workout schedule.

Make Each Workout Count.

For some of you week 7 is a test week, for others it is a rest week. It is important that you adhere to this schedule. Time off is essential to give your body time to rest and recover, and get ready for the next workout phase. You have all week to test the items listed.  Also, take note of the weights and reps you are using. As the repetitions decrease, the amount of weight you will be using should go up. On all strength exercises we will be working to failure, unless otherwise noted. So, if an exercise calls for 3 sets of 10 reps, you should be at, or about at failure for your last rep. Use a spotter when necessary. Also take note, that you should not be using the same weight for a set of 3 reps, as you would for a set of 8.
Work Hard this Summer.

Remember, training is not just lifting weights, it’s many components combined. Sport specific training, nutrition, flexibility, and proper amounts of rest and recovery are all equally important. Train smart and come back to school in the best shape of your life. If you have any questions don’t hesitate to call or e-mail. Have a great summer and we’ll see you at camp, or at the start of school.
