UMass Dartmouth defeated Maine Maritime Academy by the score of 65 to 6 in a New England Football Conference contest held at UMass Dartmouth. The win was the Corsairs second in a row making UMass Dartmouth 2-1 2-0 in conference play. Maine Maritime's record dropped to 0-3 0-2 in the conference. UMass Dartmouth running back senior Frank Meranda (Richmond, CA) rushed for 127 yards and 4 touchdowns to lead the explosive Corsair attack. Senior quarterback Matt McLaughlin(Mansfield, MA) last weeks New England conference offensive player of the week tossed 3 touchdown passes all in the first quarter. McLaughlin threw for 177 net yards on 11 completions. The Corsairs amassed 426 yards of total offense. The tough UMass Dartmouth defense allowed just 187 net yard 76 of those yards were on Maine Maritime first offensive play of the game a touchdown strike from Chris Pelletier (Norridgewock, ME) to Eric McCasin (Winslow, ME).
