Salve Regina University used a punishing ground attack to down UMass Dartmouth 51-27
in a New England Football Conference contest held at UMass Dartmouth. Salve Regina
raised it season�s record to 7-1 (6-1) while UMass Dartmouth�s record drops to 5-3
(5-2). Salve Regina senior running back Luke Arnold (Westerly, RI) was the story
of this contest, Arnold rushed for 262 yards on just 18 carries and scored 5 touchdowns.
The Salve Regina ground attack picked up 396 and tallied 7 rushing touchdowns. UMass
Dartmouth�s quarterback Matt McLaughlin (Mansfield, MA) passed for 316 yards and
three scores but it was not nearly enough to counter the strong running attack mounted
by the Seahawks of Salve Regina University.
