The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth defeated Salve Regina University 38-0 to finish the regular season with a perfected 10-0 record for the first time in school history (5-0 in division play). UMass Dartmouth will face Westfield State College in next weeks New England Football Conference Championship Game. Junior Shawn Theriault (Wakefield, MA) rushed for 105 yards on 17 carries and scored two touchdowns to lead the Corsair offense. Senior Jason Marino (Revere, MA) scored a pair of touchdowns, one on a 59 yard pass reception and the second on a 53 yard punt return. The Corsairs scored 24 points in the second quarter to put the game out of reach. The tough UMass Dartmouth defense held rival Salve Regina University to just 48 yards passing and 171 net yards for the game.
