Bridgewater State College ranked no. 25 in the nation got a 25 yard overtime touchdown from senior quarterback Dan Maurer (E. Longmeadow, MA) to defeated a spirited UMass Dartmouth team to earn its 8 th win of the season. The Bears are perfect on the season at 8-0 (6-0 New England Football Conference) while UMass Dartmouth's record falls to 3-5 (2-4 New England Football Conference). Dan Maurer gain 170 yards rushing while scoring three touchdowns leading Bridgewater State's strong ground attack that totaled 362 yards. Junior Seto Berry (Plymouth, MA) rushed for 136 yards and the fourth Bridgewater State touchdown.

UMass Dartmouth trailed 17-0 midway threw the third quarter before scoring 21 unanswered points to take the lead, the run was capped by a 15 yard scoring dash by junior Frank Meranda (Richmond, CA). Bridgewater's Dan Maurer scored to put the bears ahead 24-21 at he 9:16 mark. UMass Dartmouth's place kicker sophomore Brian West (Raynaham, MA) tied the contest at 24-24 with a 36 yard field goal with just four seconds remaining in the game.

Bridgewater State's senior defensive back Rich Cawley (Dedham, MA) had a great day picking off 4 passes in the contest including one in overtime to seal the victory.
