Going 8-1-1 over their last ten games, UMass Dartmouth finished with an11-4-1 league record
and an overall mark of 18-8-1. The Corsairs played in the ECAC playoffs for the 22nd
consecutive year, upending Framingham State, 5-1, in quarterfinal round action before
a season-ending loss to regular season champion and undefeated Curry College (16-0-0)
in the ECAC North semi-final.
The Corsairs enjoyed early season success by winning the UBS Face-off Classic
defeating Fitchburg 5-2 and Assumption 6-4 (after training 4-2 entering the
third period). UMD also enjoyed wins over NESCAC opponents Connecticut
College (5-4 OT) and Tufts (9-8). In a late season thriller, the Corsairs
battled ECAC Northeast playoff champ Wentworth to a 2-2 tie.
Amongst the 17 teams in the ECAC Northeast, UMD finished second in goals
scored with 130 (4.81 G/GM), tenth is scoring defense allowing 109 goals
against (4.04 GA/GM), third in power play 32/125 (25.6), and thirteenth in
penalty kill 93/121 (76.9).
Winning streaks during the season included a five game win streak in November
and a six game unbeaten streak (5-0-1) in late January/early February.
