MEMPHIS RIVERKINGS MAKE LATE SEASON ROSTER CHANGES;
UMASS DARTMOUTH'S SCOTT TRAHAN SIGNS PROFESSIONAL CONTRACT
March 10, 2005 - WICHITA—Memphis RiverKings Head Coach and Director of Hockey
Operations Mark Richards announced today that Forward Aaron Lewis has gone
back to Huntsville of the Southern Professional Hockey League. The team also
announced the signing of Forward Scott Trahan to fill the open roster spot
created by Lewis’ departure.
The Huntsville coach called to see if Aaron could come back and help them in
the S.P.H.L. playoffs,” Richards said. “He said they were short-handed and
needed some help. They’ve helped us out this season, so this is a way to
return the favor. It also gives us a chance to take a look at this Trahan kid.
But this also doesn’t mean that Lewis won’t be back here sometime in the
future.
The six-foot, 185 pound Trahan just completed his senior season at
Division-Three University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth where he was the second
leading scorer with 19 goals and 19 assists on a team that went 22-5-0. He and
current RiverKings rookie Phil Aucoin are both natives of Chelmsford,
Massachusetts.
