Post season awards: Abdulgani Abdi placed 17^th at the NCAA Div. III Nationals in Hanover, Indiana to earn All-America honors, the first Corsair to earn such honors since 1995. Abdi covered the five mile course in 25:36. Abdi qualified for nationals with a 16^th place finish in the New England Regionals. UMD men took 23^rd out of 40 teams and the women were 25^th out of 35 teams at the NE Regionals held in Cumberland, ME

Season highlights: UMD men took fourth in LEC/NE Alliance championships as Abdi placed third overall in 25:55. Women placed 9^th overall  led by Carolyn Conroy in 9^th place at 19:46.    Abdi placed 14^th at the Open New Englands (all division s) held at Franklin Park in October with a time of 24:56.  Stephanie Hunt was LEC Women’s runner of the week (Sept. 29) as she finished second at the Ray Dwyer (Warwick, RI) Invitational, helping UMD to a third place finish.  Abdi earned LEC Men’s runner of the week (Sept. 22) after winning the UMD Invitational and helping UMD to an 11^th place finish in the 26 team. Abdi was first in a field of 206 runners in 25:08. UMD women finished 11^th at the UMD Invitational led by Hunt (30^th place).
