CORSAIRS TIE FOR 18TH AT NEIGA CHAMPIONSHIPS
BREWSTER, MA- Junior Mike Sigismondo (Shrewsbury, MA/Shrewsbury HS) finished seventh among NCAA Division III golfers, and the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth men’s golf team tied for 18th place as play concluded Tuesday at the 45-team New England Intercollegiate Golf Association Championship, at the Captains Golf Course.
Sigismondo shot a second round score of 80 for a 36-hole total of 155, tying him for 32nd place overall. Jason Parajeckas of Connecticut finished first with a two-day score of 139. The Corsairs shot a team score of 324 for a 36-hole total of 648, tying them with New Haven for 18th. The University of Rhode Island finished first with a score of 592.
The tournament includes teams from all three NCAA divisions. There are 24 NCAA Division III teams entered, and UMass Dartmouth finished fifth among Division III teams.

UMD’s Kyle Pelletier (So. Acushnet, MA/Bishop Stang HS) shot an 81 for a two-day score of 161, while Corsair junior Mike Morgan (Dartmouth, MA/Dartmouth HS) shot a 78 for 161, and both tied for 78th place. Junior Jon Camara (Acushnet, MA/Bishop Stang HS) shot an 85 for 171 and tied for 146th, while Brendan Livingston shot an 85 and tied for 173rd.
“It was wildly windy again, and we still performed pretty well, considering the large field that was out there,” said UMass Dartmouth Head Coach Paul Fistori.
The tournament concludes the fall men’s golf season for the Corsairs.
