Women’s and men’s indoor track and field:
UMass Dartmouth men take 4th at Brandeis Invitational
UMass Dartmouth took first and second in the triple jump along with second and third in the long jump on the way to a fourth place finish at the Brandeis University Invitational held on Jan. 17.
Jonathan Garcia took first in the triple jump at 43-01 3/4, while Clayton Gullat was second at 40-07 3/4. In the long jump, Keoma Duarte took second at 20-05 3/4 with Yusef White right behind at 19-01. Gullat added a second-place finish in the high jump with a leap of 6-01 1/2, while Garcia had his own second-place finish in the 55 meter hurdles in :08.16. UMass Dartmouth’s 4000 meter distance medley relay team took third in a time of 12:00.99. The Corsairs’ relay team consisted of Jeff Caron, Casey Cavanaugh, Michael Leblanc and Jason Vaerwenewyck. Rebecca Yeaton had the top effort by the Corsair women with a fourth in the shot (30-07 3/4). Jennifer Munyon was fifth in the high jump at 4-08 and Stephanie Hunt was fifth in the 1500 meters in 5:05.92.
