Garcia’s two fourth-place efforts lead Corsairs to 22^nd place

Jon Garcia (Stoneham, MA) wrapped up a tremendous rookie campaign with a pair of fourth place finishes at the ECAC Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships held March 6 at Bowdoin (ME) College.  With his two fourth-place efforts and a sixth from teammate Keoma Duarte (New Bedford, MA), UMass Dartmouth earned 13 points to place 22^nd overall in a field of 54 teams.

In the 55-meter hurdles, Garcia’s time of 7.93 seconds was good enough for a fourth-place finish.  Competing with Duarte in the triple jump, Garcia’s best jump was a leap of 43-1 for fourth place and Duarte’s 42-11 in the same event gave him a sixth-place finish.
