UMD’s men finished fourth of five teams with 65 points in the conference meet. Eastern Connecticut State was first with 148 points, USM second with 137, Keene State third with 119 and Rhode Island fifth with 54 points. The men scored 57 points in the Alliance competition, good for fifth place in the eight-team field.

Freshman Matt Gansenberg (Georgetown, MA/Hamilton-Wenham HS) was fourth in the pole vault (12-0).

For the women, Malloy also participated as a member of the 4 X 200 meter relay team, which finished fifth in 1:59.69. Bealby was seventh in the 55-meter hurdles (9.95 seconds), while Dorleh was sixth in the triple jump (31-6 ½).

”We did well, considering the fact that we had to leave some people home because of academic commitments,” said UMass Dartmouth Head Coach Jon Hird. “Our women had six season best performances, and the men had 10. We peaked at the right time.”

The Corsairs will return to action at the New England Division III Championships this Saturday.
