Late goals lift Curry to 7-6 overtime win over UMass Dartmouth
(Dartmouth, MA) – With UMass Dartmouth clinging to a 6-5 lead in the final minute, Curry College’s Chris Sherburne’s tied the game with 18 seconds remaining in regulation time. In the extra session, Curry College’s Sean Ray scored his second goal of the game with 1:23 to play in overtime, giving Curry College a 7-6 overtime victory over UMass Dartmouth in a non-conference game played Saturday afternoon at Cressy Field.
The loss was the second in as many games for the Corsairs (0-2), while it was the season opener for Curry College (1-0).
John King led the Corsairs with a pair of goals, while UMass Dartmouth got single goals from Adam Cusano, Ryan Leary. Jeff Boudreau had a goal and a pair of assists, while Joe Mirasola added a goal and an assist in a losing effort. Alex Savioli, Ray and Bill Basham each had a pair of goals for the Colonels.
UMass Dartmouth will be back in action with another non-conference game this Thursday afternoon at Cressy Field against Emerson College. Game time is 4:00 pm
