Last Saturday, Zapasnik took second in the Open New Englands and prior to that captured the New England Division III championships two weeks ago.
Joining Zapasnik at the NCAA Championships next week will be UMass Dartmouth sophomore Jon Garcia (Stoneham, MA) who finished second in the finals of the ECAC Division III championships on Friday. After running a season’s best :14.55 for second in the preliminary round on Thursday, Garcia took second in the finals with a time of :14.68. Garcia was fourth last week at the Open New England Championships.
