Babson College sophomore Shaun Dowell (Vienna, VA) scored an unassisted goal at the 19:16 mark of the first half and senior goalkeeper Nick Todd (N. Andover, MA) made it stand up as Babson College defeated UMass Dartmouth 1-0 in the quarter-finals of the ECAC New England Soccer Tournament. Dowell notched his 4 th goal of the season, which proved to be his 2 nd game-winning tally of the 2001 campaign. Goalkeeper Nick Todd stopped eight Corsair shots to earn his 5 th shutout of the season. The lone bright spot for UMass Dartmouth was the play of junior goalkeeper Jorge Fonseca (Ludlow, MA); Fonseca stopped 10 shots in a fine effort. Babson College will face the winner of the Westfield State College- Western New England contest in the semi-finals of the ECAC New England Tournament, that contest will be held on Saturday November 10 th.
