UMass Dartmouth's Elton Livramento earns Third Team
All-New England honors from National Soccer Coaches
(Dartmouth, MA) -- UMass Dartmouth senior Elton Livramento (New Bedford, MA) capped his four-year soccer career with the Corsairs by earning Third Team All-New England honors from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America and Adidas on Monday.
A three-time Little East Conference All-Star, Livramento was one of five players from the Little East Conference honored on the 2004 NSCAA/Adidas All-New England Team for Division III.
"For the last three years Elton has been selected as our team's best defender," said UMass Dartmouth coach Ray Cabral. "He is so versatile that he can play midfield or in the back with ease. His best position is in the back because he has exceptional vision for distribution of the ball to start our attacks and he can mark any player on the opposing team."
A four-year starter for the Corsairs, Livramento was a Little East Conference First Team selection this season as a senior and also as a sophomore in 2002. During his junior season of 2003, he was an LEC Second Team selection.
In his four years as a starter for Coach Ray Cabral's men's teams, Livramento played on teams which compiled an overall record of 42-28-6. In three out of his four seasons starting on the Corsairs' back line, UMass Dartmouth qualified for three Little East Conference Tournaments and the Corsairs were invited to make three post season appearances in the ECAC New England Division III Tournament.
