                      KIDD FIRST, AULSON FOURTH AT NEISA DIVING

NORTH DARTMOUTH, MA- Senior Kelly Kidd (Denville, NJ/Morris Knolls HS) successfully defended her three-meter championship in the women’s competition, while sophomore George Aulson (Peabody, MA/Peabody HS) finished fourth overall at the three-meter diving competition as the two-day, New England Division II and III Intercollegiate Diving Championships concluded at the Tripp Athletic Center pool at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth Saturday.

Kidd finished first in the women’s competition with an NCAA qualifying score of 411.40 points. Aulson’s score of 315.20 points was good for fourth place overall. Kyle Reese of Bentley finished first in the men’s one-meter competition with a score of 361.10 points.

Kidd was named women’s Diver of the Meet, for accumulating the most points in the meet, while Reese was named men’s Diver of the Meet. Kidd was also named women’s Senior Diver of the Meet, for accumulating the most points at the meet in her career. Zach Hastings of Keene State won the men’s award. UMD Head Diving Coach Jerry Jennings was named Women’s Coach of the Meet, while Rick Danehy of Bentley was named Men’s Coach of the Meet.

“I was very pleased with our performance,” said Jennings. “Kelly had a dominating performance this weekend, and her performance ranks with the best performances we’ve ever had in diving here at UMass Dartmouth. George did a great job, rebounding from a ninth-place finish in the one-meter competition yesterday to finish fourth today.”

The Corsairs will return to action at the New England Swimming Championships next weekend at Western New England College.
