UMass Dartmouth advances to the LEC Tournament semi-finals on Friday night at Gorham, Maine where the Corsairs will take on top-seeded Southern Maine (25-1), 89-47, first round winners over #8 UMass Boston.  In the other LEC Tournament semi-final, #2 Eastern Connecticut, an 87-51 winner over #7 Plymouth State University will take on third-seeded Rhode Island College, a 54-46 winner over #6 Western Connecticut.

Satkevich’s 17 points and six rebounds led a balanced scoring attack for the Corsairs, who also got 13 points from Bridget Bowes (three 3-pointers) along with 12 points each from Katie Lunnin and Kelly O’Neil (three 3-pointers).  Keene State College’s Andrea Arsenault had a game-high 19 points, while Bekka Haskins scored 12 points and Brianne Barnes chipped in 11.

Holding a 38-36 lead at halftime, UMass Dartmouth put the game away in the second half, pushing the lead to as many as 26 at 78-52 late in the half.  UMass Dartmouth connected on 12 three-pointers on the night, the most by the Corsairs in a single game this season. The Corsiars shot 58% from the floor in the second half, connecting on 15 of 26 from the floor, while holding the Owls to 27% (8-29).

A Kelly O’Neil three-pointer lifted the Corsairs to a ten-point lead, 53-43, four minutes into the second half to spark a 15-7 UMass Dartmouth run.  A Bowes three-pointer less than a minute later stretched the lead to 13 (56-43) before a Satkevich free throw and a pair of three-pointers by Lunnin three minutes later put the game away for the Corsairs, 65-44.

The semi-final winners will square off for the LEC Tournament title and an automatic bid into the NCAA Division III Women’s Tournament on Saturday, February 24 at 4 p.m.
