Game Notes:

Emily Valorz (Milton, MA) scored three goals including the game-winner with 3:22 to play to lift UMass Dartmouth to a season-opening women�s lacrosse victory at Nichols College on Saturday. A senior tri-captain for the Corsairs, Valorz�s goal assisted by tri-captain Jennifer Burrows (Hubbardston, MA) broke open a 9-9 tie and helped the Corsairs put the game away.

Tied, 4-4, at halftime, the Corsair and Nichols College battled to three second half ties before goals by Valorz at 12:43 and by tri-captain Cara Hart (Lawrence, MA) at 12:17 gave UMass Dartmouth a two goal margin, 9-7. But the Bison came right back to score a pair of goals and tie the game, 9-9, with 3:42 to play. But 20 seconds later, Valorz, the career-scoring leader at UMass Dartmouth, put the game away for the Corsairs. Liz Holland (Quincy, MA) came up with 21 saves to pick up her first victory of the season in goal for the Corsairs.

UMass Dartmouth will return to action on Tuesday, April 2 when the Corsairs travel to Curry College for a non-conference game at 3:30 p.m.
