UMass Dartmouth upsets Little East Power and ECAC finalist Eastern Connecticut 14-10
(Dartmouth, MA) -- UMass Dartmouth powered to a 5-0 lead and never looked back en route to a 14-10 victory over the Warriors. Sophomore Katelyn Sullivan (New Bedford, MA) led the way with a perfect 6 goals on 6 shots. Assisting in the UMass effort were Freshman Katelyn Elliott (Lowell, MA) with 4 goals, Senior tri-captain Megan Corfield (Framingham, MA) with 2 goals, and Junior tri-captain Kristine Johnson (Walpole, MA) and Sophomore Mary Doherty (Loudonville, NY) adding a goal each.
The Corsairs' victory marked the first time in 4 years that UMass had defeated the Warriors.
UMass Dartmouth upped its record to 6-3 overall, and travels to Gorham, ME this weekend to take on the Huskies of Southern Maine on Saturday at 1:00 pm, followed by a trip to New London, NH to take on the Chargers of Colby-Sawyer Sunday at 1:00 pm.
