UMass Dartmouth picks up first Little East Conference Win, 18-7 over Rhode Island College

(Dartmouth, MA) -- Katelyn Elliott scored six goals and Megan Corfield added five more as UMass Dartmouth posted an 18-7 Little East Conference women's lacrosse victory over Rhode Island College on Tuesday in a game played at Cressy Field. 

The victory, UMass Dartmouth's first LEC win of the season, improves the Corsairs overall record to 4-2 and 1-1 in the LEC. Rhode Island College falls to 3-2 overall and 0-1 within the LEC.

Katelyn Sullivan added three goals and Mary Doherty chipped in two more as the Corsairs took a 9-3 lead at intermission and doubled their total in the second half for the 18-7 final.  Crystal Colagiovanni, Caitlin Gavin and Rachel Pecoraro scored two goals each for Rhode Island College.

UMass Dartmouth will be back in action on Friday when the Corsairs travel to Curry College for a 4 pm non-conference game against the Colonels.  The Corsairs will return to Cressy Field on Saturday, April 10 when they host Endicott College in another non-conference game.  Starting time for the Endicott College has not yet been determined.
